Unfortunately, they’ve discovered that there are a large amount of business entrepreneur opportunity programs, vast amounts of information, and plenty of scams to wade through to get to that perfect business opportunity. So how does a potential Internet entrepreneur make money on the Internet without spending too much, being sucked into a scam, or sifting though pages and pages of information in vain?
The answer? Sign up for affiliate programs.
What are affiliate programs?
Affiliate business entrepreneur opportunity programs are a way for business entrepreneurs to make money without having to “sell” anything themselves. This can be a great entrepreneur opportunity. You can have a simple content website, and make money off of that site by promoting other businesses products and services through the use of links, banners, buttons, or text ads. This type of entrepreneur Internet business can be very lucrative if you work it right. When someone clicks on an affiliate advertisement on your website and buys something from the business you are promoting, you will earn a commission from that sale. There are thousands of businesses that have affiliate programs, so you can be sure that you will find one that suits you.
When considering business entrepreneur opportunity affiliate programs, signing up for ones that relate to your website’s target market will give you the best chance of getting people to click those ads. For example, if you have a parenting website, you may want to look for affiliate programs that sell products and services aimed at parents, like baby toys and parenting books.
When those parents visit your website and see your affiliate advertisements for baby toys and parenting books, they can click on the ads to visit the websites that they are interested in. Those parents then make a purchase from those websites, giving a sale to that business and putting a commission, ranging from 10% - 95%, in your pocket. All you had to do was sign up to be an affiliate for an entrepreneur Internet program and promote those businesses on your website.
How do they work?
First you need to find an affiliate program and/or entrepreneur opportunity you are interested in from a website like http://www.shareasale.com, and sign up for one - or many. Most of them will approve you instantly, while others will want to check out your website before approving you.
Once approved, you can get the business’ banners, buttons, and text ads to use on your website or in your newsletter. It is linked with a special tracking number that belongs to you. This ensures that you and you only will make the commission off of any customer you refer to them.
When a customer clicks on a button, banner, or link on your website, they will be taken directly to that website. If they buy something while they are there, you will be credited for the sale.
Finally, depending on their program’s pay schedule, you will be sent your commission earnings, usually once a month, for all the customers who made purchases after clicking on your affiliate program ads. If you work your entrepreneur Internet programs right, you could see a significant monthly income.
Types of Affiliate Programs
All affiliate programs pay their referring partners, but there are three different ways they may do so. This can either be pay-per-click, flat fee, or pay-per-sale.
Pay-per-Sale: This is the most common type of affiliate program offered by business owners. They pay a percentage, anywhere from 10% - 95%, commission on all sales that were the result of a customer coming from your website.
Flat Fee: Some affiliate programs offer their affiliates a flat fee for each customer that buys something. So instead of paying out a percentage on the entire order, they may instead pay $5 or $10 on each order that is made. This may be done for businesses whose orders are always large in value. For example, an affiliate refers a customer to a website where they purchase a $1500 TV. Instead of that affiliate earning a 10% percent commission on that order, which would land him or her a nice $150 dollar commission, he or she would instead earn a flat fee of $10 regardless of the size of the order.
No, it may not be as nice as the $150 dollars, but you are still earning money just to show that affiliate program advertisement on your website.
Pay-per-Click: The companies that offer pay-per-click earnings to their affiliates are far and few between, but some programs have a catch. The basic idea of this type of program is that the affiliate earns anywhere from $0.01 to $2.00 for every visitor that clicks on the ad on your website.
The catch to some of these programs is that they require visitors who click through from your website to click on a link on that page for you to earn your pay-per-click commission.
Affiliate programs are a great way for business entrepreneurs to earn money on the Internet without having to sell something, ship something, or pay out money before joining. However, always read the affiliate agreement terms to arm yourself with information. The terms will describe the commission type, payout limits (if any), and how they pay, via PayPal, check, etc.
